Provincetown Art Association (PAAM) – Bangs Property

Provincetown Art Association (PAAM) is built on Bangs property.

The original home belonged to Solomon Bangs. Senior or Junior? As is the case with the architecture, we don’t know for certain, but given their ages, it was likely Solomon Junior.

The building to the left, above, was built on property that once belonged to a Cook but was last owned by William Bangs. This is the conveyance of the property from William Bangs to PAAM:

The original building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Note that the Wikipedia entry refers to Solomon Bangs as “fishing captain”.
